St. Peter's Basilica
Vatican City, an autonomous microstate inside Rome, Italy, is home to the Papal Basilica of Saint Peter, often known as Saint Peter's Basilica. It is a basilica from the Italian High Renaissance. In order to replace the deteriorating Old St. Peter's Basilica, which was constructed in the fourth century by Roman Emperor Constantine the Great, it was first envisioned in the fifteenth century by Pope Nicholas and then by Pope Julius, On April 18, 1506, work on the current basilica started, and it was finished on November 18, 1626.
