The tour will begin by crossing the Giudecca Island, located immediately south of the historic centre of Venice, and then head towards the island of Poveglia.

The tour continues to the island of Poveglia, further south, an island where a psychiatric hospital operated until 1968. Here we can appreciate the rich vegetation and approach the island of Lido di Venezia.

Returning to the central part of the Lagoon, we reach the island of Vignole, a magical place located between the island of Certosa and the island of S. Erasmo. A quiet place far from the hustle and bustle of the city, where you can enjoy vegetation and once a holiday resort for many Venetians and non-Venetians.

Continuing on our tour we reach the Arsenale di Venezia, an ancient complex of shipyards and workshops, the heart of the Venetian shipbuilding industry since the 12th century.

Divided into nine islets crossed by a wide canal, Murano is the island of glass blowing. A long and still-thriving tradition, this magic art has involved whole generations of Murano residents. The Museum of Glass is a must for anyone wishing to bone up on the art of glass-making in Venice.

Piazza San Marco is in the heart of Venice. It is 590 ft (180 m) long and 230 ft (70 m) wide, and is the only “piazza” in Venice, since the rest of the squares are called “piazzales” or “campos”. It was established during the ninth century, but adopted its current size and form in 1177, and was paved one hundred years later. The Piazza San Marco is one of the most beautiful in the world. Napoleon called it “the world’s most beautiful drawing room”.
