Next we drive back through Airlie Beach and out to Shute Harbour.
Here, the landscape transforms dramatically. This National Park trail winds through dry coastal bush land with gums, grass trees and ancient cycads.
The trail then opens up to the turquoise waters of Whitsunday Passage and the entire beach made up of pieces of coral.
It is a sight to see and we enjoy time here while we have morning tea.
