We leave cusco with our own private transportation and head to the south of the city into the Southern Valley. We pass valleys, rivers, mountains and some smaller communities. Our starting point is already at 4900 meters above sea level.
We hike uphill for about 45 minutes to the highest point of our excursion which is at 5000 meters. We pass the unique formations of the rainbow mountain range.
The view at the snow-capped Ausangate mountain is breath-taking. Once we are on the top of our view point, we will have the Vilcanote Mountain range in front of us. You will have all the time to rest and to take pictures. Afterwards, we descent for about 30 minutes
