One of Qatar’s most remarkable historical landmarks, Zekreet Fort stands out as one of the few sites in the country built in two distinct construction phases. Its layered architecture tells the story of how the fort evolved over time, reflecting changing needs and influences.

This breathtaking installation in the Brouq Nature Reserve stretches over a kilometre and consists of four monumental steel plates, each rising more than fourteen metres high. Meticulously aligned after Serra’s careful study of the surrounding topography, the work responds directly to the desert landscape, amplifying its vastness and silence. Both strikingly modern and timeless, the sculpture transforms the empty horizon into a powerful spatial experience.
