Byblos Castle
Byblos Castle & archaeological site — 7,000 years of history
Arrive in Byblos — one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities on earth — and explore its remarkable archaeological site, where 7,000 years of human history unfold in a single beautiful walk. The 12th-century Crusader castle was built from recycled Phoenician and Roman stones — civilisations literally layered upon each other in the walls. Inside: Neolithic foundations from 5000 BC, Bronze Age temples, Phoenician royal tombs, and Roman streets. Byblos gave the world its alphabet — and its name gave us the word Bible. Your driver shares these wonderful stories as you explore at your own comfortable pace.
