Santa Fe de Antioquia
The town was founded in 1541 on the Western bank of the Cauca River and became the first capital of Antioquia in 1584. It is declared a Cultural Heritage Village thanks to its colonial architecture with many historic churches, plazas and monuments. The village of Santa Fé is known for its unique jewellery - the Filigree technique - a delicate kind of jewellery metalwork, usually of gold or silver, arranged in artistic motifs. Locals call it the Cartagena of Antioquia due to the conservation of colonial architecture. Experience a private visit in an artisanal manufactory of silver & gold jewellery. Discover the impressive cañons of the Cauca river visiting the well-known bridge “Puente del Occidente” considered one of the longest suspension bridges in the world.
Look forward to experiencing stunning landscapes, colonial vibes in the streets of Santa Fé, typical Colombian food and a relaxing day in the countryside. Furthermore, support local families and their jewellery traditions.
