The Amalfi Coast got its name from the village of Amalfi and was declared protected by UNESCO because of its mere beauty.
Amalfi is also rich in history and traditions: it is one of the four maritime republics, in fact, every 4 years it hosts a sea race with Pisa, Genoa, and Venice and in the past, it boasted the production of the famous Amalfi paper.
