Koh ker Temple, also known as Prasat Thom, is an ancient Hindu temple located in northern Cambodia. Built during the 10th century under the reign of King Jayavarman IV, it served as the state temple of the short-lived capital, Koh Ker. The temple is dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva and is renowned for its unique pyramid shaped structure, which sets it apart from other Khmer temples. Surrounded by jungle and lesser known than Angkor Wat, Koh Ker Temple holds great historical and architectural significance. Its towering presence and intricate carvings showcase the rich cultural heritage of the Khmer Empire and ancient Hindu traditions.
