The west coast of Sant’Antioco is one of the most scenic stretches of Sulcis: cliffs shaped by the wind, solitary coves and a sea that at sunset becomes a golden mirror. Sailing here in the last hours of the day means witnessing a continuous change of colors: from the bright turquoise of the afternoon to the warm tones of orange and pink. The cliffs light up with grazing light, the seagulls re-enter towards the rock faces and the island shows its most authentic and silent side. The Tonnara di Carloforte, located in the northeast of the Island of San Pietro, is an iconic place where history and landscape blend. The ancient structures of the trap overlook an incredibly clear sea, which at sunset takes on shades of cobalt and purple. The bay is sheltered and quiet – perfect for a last dip, to relax in the bow or to enjoy a glass of wine while the sun goes down behind the island. The sunset light here is particularly soft and cinematic, ideal for photos and drone footage. The view of the eastern cliffs of San Pietro completes a picture that combines maritime tradition, nature and an intimate and relaxed atmosphere.
