Your adventure begins with a scenic drive from Antigua to the base of Pacaya Volcano, one of Guatemala’s most accessible active volcanoes. Upon arrival, you’ll meet your local guide and begin the hike through forest trails, volcanic rock, and ash-covered paths at a pace that feels comfortable for your group.
Along the way, you’ll enjoy views of nearby volcanoes, learn about Pacaya’s volcanic activity, and walk across solidified lava fields from previous eruptions. While red lava is not currently visible, you may observe steam vents and geothermal heat depending on volcanic conditions.
