Our tour guide will pick you up from your location in Muscat, and you will enjoy a scenic drive of about 2 hours before reaching Nizwa City.

Your first stop will be Nizwa Fort, where the entrance fee is 5 OMR (approximately 13 USD) per person, payable directly at the gate. Inside the fort, you can explore both the interior and exterior areas. Don’t miss the top of the fort, where you’ll be rewarded with stunning views of Nizwa, surrounded by mountains and traditional villages.

After exploring Nizwa Fort, your guide will take you to Nizwa Souq, where you can stroll through the traditional market and shop for souvenirs such as dates, Omani halwa, jewelry, spices, fruits and much more.

After exploring Nizwa Fort and the bustling Nizwa Souq, your journey continues to Birkat Al Mouz Old Village. This historical site, once a thriving settlement, is now an enchanting ruin village that offers a glimpse into Oman’s past. You can walk among the crumbling mud-brick houses, explore the narrow alleys.

After visiting Birkat Al Mouz Old Village, you will continue to the famous Falaj Al Kattmyn, one of Oman’s traditional irrigation systems and part of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed aflaj network. This ancient water channel has been supplying the village’s date plantations and farmlands for centuries, showcasing the ingenuity of Omani engineering. Here, you can see how the system still works today, distributing water through underground and surface channels to sustain agriculture in this desert environment.

After exploring the Falaj Al Kattmyn irrigation system, we will take you to the Birkat Al Mouz viewpoint. From the top, you can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views overlooking the entire village, its lush date plantations, and the surrounding mountains. The contrast between the greenery, the old mud-brick ruins, and the dramatic landscape makes this spot one of the most picturesque places in the area—perfect for photos and a peaceful moment to take in the beauty of Oman.

After visiting Nizwa Fort, Nizwa Souq, Birkat Al Mouz Old Village, the Falaj Al Kattmyn irrigation system, and the Birkat viewpoint, you will continue your journey up to Jebel Akhdar. Along the way, you will stop at the famous Diana’s Viewpoint, offering breathtaking views of the terraced farms and mountain landscape. Afterwards, you will proceed to Sama Jebel Akhdar Hotel for an overnight stay, where you can relax and enjoy a peaceful evening in the cool mountain climate.
