Mahsuri's Tomb
Despite the prosperous of Langkawi, the island is laced with the true story of legendary Mahsuri. Mahsuri was wrongly sentenced to death after a rumor spread that she was having an affair with another man in the absence of her husband. The rumor was spread by the wife of the village chief due to jealousy of the beautiful and charming of Mahsuri. When she was murdered the white blood flowed signifying her innocence. She cursed Langkawi for seven generations in her last words. Because of her innocence, the curse came true and Langkawi have been attacked by Siam several times and the seven generations curse ends during the 20th century. Langkawi began to prosper and became one of the most popular tourist attractions in the world. When you come to Langkawi don't forget to visit her tomb as a respect to this legendary lady.
