Swayambhunath is approximately 2600 years old Buddhist Stupa. Swayambhunath is looking over the entire Kathmandu valley. Swayambhunath- literally ‘self-existent god’, is often referred to as the Monkey Temple due to the hundreds of monkeys- the local dwellers.
