Itinerary

Pulau Gaya
1. The Floating Village
Travelers will approach a village built entirely above the water, with wooden stilt houses, small fishing boats, and children paddling around.
It’s a very photogenic, authentic, and “only in Sabah” scene.
2. Daily Life on the Sea
Visitors get to observe how the community lives 100% connected to the ocean:
Families drying fish and sea cucumbers
Fishermen preparing nets
Women sorting shells and seafood
Children paddling handmade boats
This is not a staged show — it’s real daily life.
3. Traditional Bajau Laut Skills
Depending on the village, travelers may see:
Free-diving Bajau Laut (some dive 10–20m with no equipment)
Spearfishing tools
Handmade wooden boats (lepa-lepa)
Natural methods for catching fish
4. The Famous Sea-Gypsy Kids
The children of Kampung Gipsi are well known for:
Paddling tiny boats
Diving for shells
Playing in the water
Being very friendly
