This is journey to the roots of Catalonia and a must for lovers of medieval art and nature experiences.
This tour starts with the hotel pickup in Barcelona. First, we travel in a comfortable air-conditioned SUV to Vic where we start a walking tour of the city. Here in the capital of the Osona borough you will see Plaça Major with its art nouveau buildings, the Roman temple and the romanesque cathedral of St. Peter.

Placa Major
Drive from Barcelona to Vic (70 minutes). See the beautiful market square and its surrounding streets and try some amazing local products like truffles or salami (40 minutes).

Muralla de Pere III
From Plaça Major we go towards the Roman temple and the medieval city walls. We stop at the romanesque bridge and enter into town again from another city gate.

Catedral de Sant Pere de Vic
After passing the Episcopalian museum, we come to Saint Peter's cathedral. The building is from the 11th century and its romanesque crypt is completely intact, while the main ship of the church is considered a world unique example of mural painting of the 20th century by Catalan artist Josep María Sert.

Santa Pau
Drive to the village of Santa Pau in the volcanic region of La Garrotxa at the feet of the Pyrenees (50 min). Here we visit the historical village of the 10th century with its medieval market square, its romanesque church and its defence systems (45 min). After this visit it's time for a generous lunch with rustic local dishes 'à la granny' (90 min).

Drive to the medieval village of Besalú (40 minutes) where you have the opportunity to visit the historical center with its fortified bridge, the Jewish quarter and the romanesque churches of St. Peter and St. Vincent. (45 minutes)
