Alter Hof
The Alter Hof was built as a ducal city fortress at the end of the 12th century in Munich. From about 1255 it became the residence of the dukes of Upper Bavaria and then of Bavaria. It is the former imperial residence of Ludwig of Bavaria. The building complex consists of the components: Burgstock, Zwingerstock, Lorenzistock, Pfisterstock and Brunnenstock. Like most of the old town, it was rebuilt after being destroyed during World War II.
