Visit Provesende, one of the Douro Valley’s most distinctive wine villages. Stop at one of the Douro Valley’s most famous viewpoints. From Casal de Loivos, admire sweeping views over the terraced vineyards, the Douro River and the surrounding hills — one of the most memorable photo moments of the day.

Pinhão and Pinhão Railway Station Continue to Pinhão, one of the most emblematic villages in the Douro wine region. Enjoy the riverside atmosphere and visit Pinhão Railway Station, famous for its traditional azulejo panels showing scenes of wine production, harvest and Douro life. This short stop adds cultural depth to the day and connects the valley’s landscapes with the people, traditions and work behind its wine heritage.

Optional Douro River Boat Ride If schedules allow, a boat ride may be placed between the wine experience and lunch. Seeing the Douro from the river gives the day a calmer and more scenic rhythm, offering a different perspective on the vineyard terraces and valley landscape.

Optional Wine Experience Depending on your preferences and availability, you may add a wine experience selected separately during booking. A recommended structure is to enjoy a Port wine tasting earlier in the day and a Douro table wine tasting later, giving you a broader understanding of the region’s wine culture.

Bagaúste Dam and Régua Riverfront Make a final scenic stop near Bagaúste Dam and the Régua riverfront. This last moment offers another perspective on the Douro as both a natural landscape and a river shaped by wine, history, movement and engineering.

After lunch and optional wine experiences, continue along the famous N222, one of the most scenic roads in Portugal. Enjoy vineyard landscapes, river views and photo stops whenever the route and timing allow.

The metal bridge was built in 1872 by King D. Luís I for road crossing of the Douro River and was deactivated since 1949 due to the state of degradation of the wooden board. The initial project belongs to engineer W. Liebe, and was later changed by engineer Johann Gaspar Harkort and the construction work was under the guidance of German engineer Wilherm Dulhener from the Eifel team.

Considered the capital of the Douro wine region and is an important hub for the wine industry. The town is home to the Douro Museum, which showcases the history and culture of the region and includes exhibits on the production and marketing of Port wine.
