Luis I Bridge
The Luiz I Bridge, or Ponte Luiz I, is an iconic double-deck iron bridge in Porto, Portugal. Spanning the Douro River, it connects the cities of Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia. Designed by Théophile Seyrig, a disciple of Gustave Eiffel, the bridge was completed in 1886. The upper deck carries the Porto Metro, while the lower deck is used for road traffic and pedestrians.
