Peleș Castle is a magnificent Neo-Renaissance fortress in the Carpathian Mountains near Sinaia. Built between 1873 and 1914 under King Carol I’s orders as a royal residence and hunting lodge, it blends Germanic Renaissance, Gothic Revival, and Baroque styles. The castle is surrounded by landscaped gardens and offers stunning mountain views.
Inside, it has over 160 rooms, including royal apartments, libraries, and a collection of European art, sculptures, and medieval weapons. Known for its intricate woodwork, stained glass windows, and elaborate décor, Peleș reflects Romania’s royal opulence. The Royal Armoury displays a rich collection of medieval weapons.
As one of Romania’s most popular attractions, Peleș Castle is a symbol of royal heritage and architectural excellence. Its picturesque location in a lush forest makes it a must-see destination in Transylvania.
