Après un trajet époustouflant en téléphérique, marchez environ 20 minutes jusqu’à l’une des plateformes d’observation les plus spectaculaires des Alpes, qui s’étend comme une main au-dessus des 400 m de dénivelé. Depuis cinq plateformes (les « 5 doigts »), chacune conçue différemment, vous pourrez tester votre vertige et profiter d’une vue imprenable sur Hallstatt, le lac Hallstättersee et la région intérieure du Salzkammergut.
Les cinq niveaux, mesurant chacun 4 x 1 m, offrent un panorama spectaculaire. L’une des plateformes est entièrement vitrée, tandis qu’une autre permet aux visiteurs d’admirer le site classé au patrimoine mondial de Hallstatt à travers un grand cadre baroque. Les « 5 doigts » sont illuminés jusqu’à minuit et sont visibles de loin, même la nuit.
Sur le chemin menant aux « 5 doigts », des panneaux d’information vous permettront d’en apprendre davantage sur la faune, la flore et la géologie du Dachstein Krippenstein.

Mines de sel de Hallstatt

La plus ancienne mine de sel du monde, le plus vieil escalier en bois d’Europe et la passerelle flottante Skywalk avec sa vue « Patrimoine mondial », à 360 mètres de hauteur : la mine de sel de Hallstatt est une mine de tous les superlatifs. Embarquez pour un voyage de découverte, remontant aux tout débuts de l’extraction du sel, il y a environ 7 000 ans, et découvrez l’histoire de l’exploitation minière de l’âge du bronze, racontée aujourd’hui de manière spectaculaire grâce à une technologie multimédia de pointe, dont un cinéma de l’âge du bronze à 400 mètres de profondeur. Option 6: The SchafbergBahn is the steepest cogwheel railway in Austria. Since 1893 mighty steam locomotives have powered their way from the lake-side base station in St. Wolfgang to the 1783 m high summit of the Schafberg.
The SchafbergBahn allows every visitor to conquer the mountain in comfort and style, making the entire journey an unforgettable experience! Trains are in service from May through to the end of September.
Once on the top, magnificent Alpine views and warm Austrian hospitality beckon. Visit the Hotel Schafsbergspitze, Austria’s oldest mountain inn, originally dating from 1862. From the top you may see numerous Alpine lakes and the Dachstein glacier.

Salzwelten Altaussee

Visit the 800-year-old salt mine. During World War II this mine was used to store art works and treasures taken by the NSDAP as they advanced through Europe. This is the mine portrayed ion the Hollywood movie “Monuments Men”.
