Como is an ideal shopping destination for fine scarves and ties for its reputation as the "Silk Capital." You will walk along Via Vitani, which maintains its medieval aspect and aim thanks to the artisan's shop.

Visit from Outside. Alessandro Volta, the inventor of the electric battery, was born in Como! Among other city landmarks, such as the omonimous square with his statue, you can admire the Volta Temple, dedicated to the scientist.

You will enjoy a typical Italian village atmosphere as you approach the Basilica of San Fedele and its tall bell tower, overlooking the vast space of the eponymous romantic square.

After exploring the highlights of Como, enjoy an incredible lake cruise! The shores of Lake Como feature charming villages and opulent, historic villas, many with beautiful botanical gardens open from spring to autumn. Each has its own unique character, best appreciated from the water. Your captain will stop by all the main spots to explain their peculiarities and take incredible pictures. 5-hour boat cruise: You will have two stops. We have selected the most representative of the lake, Varenna and Bellagio. 3-hour boat cruise: You will have a 30 minutes stop at Bellagio. Time will not allow a stop at Varenna Varenna is a charming village on Lake Como's eastern shore, known for its colorful houses and serene promenade. The former monastery, Villa Monastero, is now a museum and botanical garden, featuring a lovely lakeside walkway for visitors to enjoy.

NOTE that the stop at Varenna is not included in the 5-hour tour option; only pass by. Varenna, a quiet, romantic village on the eastern shore, is celebrated for its colorful houses, tranquil lakeside promenade, and dreamy atmosphere. Villa Monastero in Varenna, once a monastery, has been transformed into a museum and botanical garden, offering visitors a long, picturesque lakeside walkway.

NOTE that the stop at Bellaggio in the 5-hour tour option is not 2 hours but 30 minutes. Bellagio, often referred to as the "Pearl of Lake Como," is situated at the tip of the Y-shaped lake's promontory. It is renowned for its chic boutiques, pristine gardens, and the iconic stairway street, Salita Serbelloni, which is perfect for photography.

Along the way you will enjoy the view of numerous photography spots! One of the most photographed sights is Villa del Balbianello in Lenno, renowned for its terraced gardens and its role as a backdrop for several famous movies. Another notable site is Villa Oleandra in Laglio, owned by a well-known American actor. You will pass by the Ponte della Civera, a medieval bridge in Nesso, famous for its dramatic location over the Nesso gorge. Built on Roman foundations, it features a graceful arch and historically links two villages.
