About
Lebanon has been producing wine for over 6,000 years — longer than France, longer than Italy, longer than almost anywhere on earth. The Bekaa Valley, sitting at 1,000 metres above sea level between the Lebanon and Anti-Lebanon mountain ranges, is where that ancient tradition lives today. On this private full-day tour, you will visit three of Lebanon's most celebrated wineries — Chateau Ksara, Chateau Kefraya, and Chateau Saint Thomas — for guided cellar tours and wine tastings that reveal why Lebanese wine is earning serious attention from critics worldwide. Itinerary
1
Beirut
9:00 AM — Departure from Beirut
Your private guide and vehicle collect you from your Beirut hotel. The drive east through the Lebanese mountains toward the Bekaa Valley is itself part of the experience — climbing through cedar-forested slopes before the valley opens up dramatically below, stretching between two mountain ranges with vineyards as far as the eye can see.
2
Chateau St Thomas
Begin at Chateau Saint Thomas, one of the Bekaa Valley's most respected family-owned wineries, producing wines from vineyards that sit at over 1,000 metres altitude. The high elevation, cool nights, and intense Bekaa sunshine create conditions that produce wines of remarkable complexity and character. Your guided tour takes you through the vineyard and cellars before a tasting of their signature red, white, and rosé wines — including their acclaimed Cabernet Sauvignon and full-bodied reds that have earned medals at international competitions.
1 hour
3
Chateau Kefraya
Continue to Chateau Kefraya — one of the largest and most celebrated wine estates in Lebanon, with over 300 hectares of vineyards sprawling across the Bekaa plain. Kefraya is renowned for its flagship red blend "Comte de M" — widely considered one of the finest wines produced in the Middle East — as well as its aromatic whites and its Muse rosé. The guided tour moves through the vast cellars and barrel rooms before a structured tasting that showcases the estate's full range. For wine lovers, this is a highlight of any Lebanon itinerary.
1 hour
4
Chateau Ksara
The final winery is Chateau Ksara — the oldest and most storied winery in Lebanon, founded by Jesuit monks in 1857 and now producing more wine than any other Lebanese estate. The highlight here is the extraordinary Roman cave cellar system, stretching 2 kilometres beneath the winery and discovered by the Jesuits in the late 19th century — a network of ancient tunnels where the wine ages at a naturally constant temperature year-round. Walking through these caves is as much an archaeological experience as a wine one. The tasting that follows showcases Ksara's iconic Cabernet-Syrah blends, its crisp white Blanc de Blancs, and the beloved sunset rosé.

Zahle
Lunch in Zahle — the capital of the Bekaa
Before heading back to Beirut, stop in Zahle — Lebanon's most famous food and wine destination, known as the "Bride of the Bekaa." The city's celebrated restaurant strip along the Bardawni River is lined with terraces serving the finest Lebanese mezze in the country, accompanied by arak, local wine, and the cool mountain air of the valley. A fitting and leisurely finale to a day spent among Lebanon's greatest vineyards.
