Situated in the parish of St. Andrew, this scenic lookout stands approximately 850 feet above sea level. The hill was originally lined with cherry trees, which have since been replaced by majestic mahogany trees.
As you ascend Cherry Tree Hill, you’ll be greeted by a picturesque drive flanked by these towering mahogany trees. Cattlewash
Located in the parish of St. Joseph, this beach offers a long expanse of sand, fringed by windswept sea grape foliage and rugged cliffs. The name “Cattlewash” harks back to its historical use, where farmers would bring their cattle to the beach to be washed by the crashing waves.
While swimming in the open water is not recommended due to strong currents, the beach features natural rock pools that are safe for bathing. It’s an ideal location for a relaxing beach walk, sunbathing, or a quiet picnic under the Casuarina trees. The scenic drive to Cattlewash itself is a treat, showcasing the dramatic landscapes of Barbados’ east coast.
