Disclaimer: Due to the Partial Closure of the PR1 Trail from Pico do Arieiro to Pico Ruivo. This service has adapted to the trails open. Hike at your own rhythm on a self-guided trek and explore Pico do Arieiro Mountains area. Adventure yourself on the trail Stairway to Heaven - 2.5km and admire the unique views on the edges of the mountains (up to 1830 m). After this famous Stairway to Heaven Trail (PR1), connect with Vereda do Burro Trail (PR3) for 7km, downhill mostly. This part of the walk will be more green and flat surfaced.
