Nationaler Gedenkfriedhof des Pazifiks
Der National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific befindet sich in einem erloschenen Vulkan nahe dem Zentrum von Honolulu, Hawaii.
Zu beiden Seiten der großen Treppe, die zum Denkmal führt, befinden sich acht Gedenktafeln für Vermisste. Auf diesen sind die Namen der 18.095 im Zweiten Weltkrieg im Pazifik vermissten US-Soldaten (ausgenommen solche aus dem Südwestpazifik) sowie der 8.210 im Koreakrieg vermissten US-Soldaten eingraviert. Diese Namen waren bei der Einweihung 1966 auf den Gedenktafeln für Vermisste im Koreakrieg verzeichnet. Am Fuß der Treppe wurden zwei Gedenktafeln hinzugefügt, auf denen die Namen von 2.504 im Vietnamkrieg vermissten US-Soldaten eingraviert sind. Oben an der Treppe befindet sich eine Kapelle, flankiert von Galerien mit Mosaikkarten und Beschreibungen der Erfolge der US-Streitkräfte im Zentral- und Südpazifik sowie in Korea.
