Travelling beneath the River Mersey and onto the Wirral Peninsula, you will transition from Liverpool’s iconic maritime waterfront, and drive past historic landmarks and scenic river park to arrive at our first stop that is the beautifully preserved model village of Port. Founded in 1888 by industrialist William Lever of Lever Brothers, this historic village was created to provide high-quality homes for the company’s soap factory workers. Today, visitors can enjoy its peaceful parkland setting, attractive Arts and Crafts architecture, and more than 900 Grade II listed buildings spread across 130 acres.
