Amanohashidate, located in Miyazu Bay on the Sea of Japan, is one of the "Three Views of Japan" alongside Matsushima in Mutsu and Itsukushima in Aki. This 3.6-kilometer sandbar, formed by coastal sedimentation, is covered with approximately 8,000 pine trees and flanked by white sandy beaches on both sides. Its shape resembles a bridge reaching diagonally into the sky, hence the name "Amanohashidate" (Bridge to Heaven). Situated where the Sea of Japan meets Lake Asokai, it offers both pristine natural scenery and sweeping ocean views.

This Zen temple is one of Japan's Three Great Monju Temples, dedicated to Monju Bosatsu, the bodhisattva of wisdom. It houses several Important Cultural Properties and features about 5,000 pine trees, with its "Wisdom Rice Cakes" being a renowned local specialty

This rare rotating bridge connects Amanohashidate to the mainland, swinging open 90 degrees for passing sightseeing boats. On Sundays, it rotates hourly even without boats, creating a photogenic spectacle popular among visitors

About 230 unique wooden boathouses stretch 5km along Ine Bay, with first floors connected to the sea for storing boats and second floors as living spaces. This fishing village, designated as an Important Preservation District, showcases Japan's original landscape
