The area surrounding Kiyosumi Shirakawa is also know as Fukugawa. I quieter neighbourhood across the Sumida which retains its shitamachi charm whilst also being home to many interesting shops, museums and galleries. The area has developed a reputation as Tokyo's coffee district. Explore the charming area stopping by interesting shops and galleries. Enjoy a delicious cup of coffee at one of the areas hip coffee shops. Stop by a local eatery to try the areas little known Fukgawa Meishi, a uniquely Tokyo dish of clams on rice.
