A ring fort built c. 1700 BC

A 15th century Norman tower house that was home to Cahir O'Doherty, the last chieftain of Inishowen and played a significant part to the history of Inishowen and Ulster as a whole.

A visit to Fort Dunree will include a video film presentation in the audio-visual theatre, access to museum displays which fully demonstrate life at Fort Dunree, showing its vital role in coastal defense, neutrality protection and a range of coastal artillery. The underground bunkers also house a collection of artifacts that give meaning and insight into the day to day operation of the Fort.

Carrickabraghy Castle stands at the north-western extremity of the Isle of Doagh, at the head of Pollan Bay. Built in the 16th century on a rocky promontory with spectacular views of the Donegal hills and headlands, this O’Doherty stronghold stands on the site of a pre-Viking settlement

From an upper viewing point, we'll see Pollen Bay, some of the highest sand dunes in Europe and in low tide, a ship wreck from the Spanish Armada!

At the farthest northwest tip of the Island of Ireland, we'll see one of the most significant signal heads on the island as well as rugged coast line and natural beauty that the producers of Star Wars felt it perfect for one of their many film locations dotted throughout the country.
