The "Profile View" at Mount Rushmore offers a rare perspective of George Washington perfectly framed by natural rock outcroppings. It provides a quiet, uncrowded alternative to the main viewing plaza and reveals the impressive depth of the carving.

Experience the awe of Mount Rushmore National Memorial, our iconic tribute to American history. Carved directly into the granite peaks, these massive 60-foot faces bring history to life. You will stand before George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln. Your guide will lead you through the facility sharing its history and pointing out things of interest. After touring, you will have time to self explore: movie, dining, shopping are all available. At sunset the rangers provide a program that honors our veterans, including a patriotic movie and the lighting of the mountain. Please be aware the program is provided even if it rains. *However, if dangerous lighting or high wind, Rangers cancel the show.
