Meiji Jingu is a shrine that was built to commemorate the Japanese Meiji emperor. The shrine was completed in 1920, but was later destroyed by the Tokyo air raids. The shrine that stands today was built in 1958, but its beauty captures an era long past. The shrine is a must see for anyone visiting Tokyo, and before 1946 the shrine was considered first rank of the government sponsored shrines.
We will see all there is to see of the shrine and its surrounding park. As we do you will hear the history and culture surrounding the shrine, and see the magnificent replicas of the original buildings.

Meiji Jingu is a famous Shinto shrine in the middle of Tokyo. It has paths leading to it, bordered by towering trees. The path is lined with traditional lanterns, and the road is paved with stunning stone. The atmosphere in this shrine is that of peace, and the towering trees serve as a wall to the modern outside world. You will feel like you have been transported to times long before the city was as busy as it is.
