This is a hands-on experience guided by local Chagga community members. You will roast, grind, and brew coffee using traditional methods. You will learn each step of the coffee-making process from bean to cup. You will discover the history, traditions, and daily life of the Chagga people. This experience does not include selecting ingredients from a local market. Vegetarian meal options are available upon request. Please let us know about any dietary requirements before your tour.

During our Materuni experience, travelers will enjoy a guided walk through the beautiful village and lush coffee plantations while learning about the local Chagga culture. We'll visit the stunning Materuni Waterfalls, where guests can relax, take photos, or enjoy a refreshing swim in the natural pool.
After the hike, travelers will take part in a traditional coffee-making experience. They'll learn how coffee is grown, harvested, roasted, and ground using traditional methods, then prepare and enjoy a fresh cup of locally made coffee. A delicious homemade local lunch will also be served, giving guests a chance to experience authentic Tanzanian cuisine.
