It's old town carved in a deep ravine, is the first UNESCO site of the southern Italy where people lived in houses- cave from the Prehistoric Age to 1952, in two amazing districts called Sassi. Instead, Altamura is situated in a dominating position on the Murgia Hills, in a National park. It has an old town very interesting with a big cathedral of the medieval period. Known for the typical local bread, defined the best in Italy and with high quality mark DOP, Altamura has a lot of stone ovens where we can taste the typical dishes of the wheat city!

Situated in a dominating position on the Murga hills, in a National park, Altamura has an old town very interesting with a big cathedral of the medieval period, famous for its portal rich in stone decorations. Very known for the typical local bread, defined the best in Italy and with high quality mark DOP, Altamura has a lot of stone ovens where we can taste the typical dishes of the wheat city!
Remaining time will be allotted for travel time in between attractions.
