Jemaa el-Fnaa
It is the largest open-air restaurant in Morocco, the beating heart of the city, one of the most exciting and perhaps noisiest places in the world.
The name means something like "gathering of the dead" and comes from the time when this place was still used as an execution site. It is now also called "Place of the Jugglers"
The market square is transformed into a brilliant spectacle. Jugglers, snake charmers, storytellers, fortune tellers, fire-eaters, dancers, music groups with drums and lutes as well as acrobats perform their arts. Trained monkeys, camels and horses romp around the Djemaa el-Fna.
