Day 1 | Cusco – Cloud Forest – Bambu Hostel
Departure between 5:30 and 6:00 a.m. from Cusco for the jungle. Along the way we will make a stop in the charming colonial village of Paucartambo, where we will enjoy a local breakfast and learn about some of its living history.
We will cross the Abra de Acjanaco (3,500 m above sea level), the official entrance to the Manu National Park. From here we will begin the descent into the enigmatic cloud forest, a transitional ecosystem that is home to species such as the rooster of rocks (national bird of Peru), quetzals, trogons and wild orchids. Guided walk to observe flora and fauna. In the afternoon, arrive at Bambu Hostel, an ecolodge surrounded by lush nature. Dinner and rest.

Kosnipata Valley
Day 2 | Bambu Hostel – Puerto Atalaya – Navigation – Hummingbird Hostel
After breakfast, we continue by road to Puerto Atalaya, crossing coca plantations, tropical fruits. From there we will embark on a motorized boat to navigate the Alto Madre de Dios River, one of the great tributaries of the Amazon.
During the journey we will observe waterfowl such as herons, fishing martins, and if we are lucky, the majestic king of vultures. It is also possible to spot alligators, turtles and hoarseness (the largest rodent in the world). Arrival at the Hummingbird Hostel, surrounded by primary jungle.

Manu National Park
Day 3 | Hummingbird Hostel – Entrance to Reserved Area – Lake Brashco – Matsiguenka House
Early, we continue our sailing to the Manu Reserved Zone, one of the most protected areas in the world. At the Limonal checkpoint we will record our entrance, and from there we will explore the Manu River, where you can see an incredible variety of species: taricaya turtles, black and white alligators, capybaras, monkeys, birds and more.
We will visit Cocha Brashco, a hidden lake ideal for the observation of giant otters and various species of monkeys. In the afternoon, arrive at Casa Matsiguenka, a hostel managed by a native community that shares its vision and respect for the jungle. In the evening, optional night walk in search of nocturnal animals such as tarantulas, snakes, frogs, scorpions and insects.

Casa Matsiguenka Lodge
Day 4 | Casa Matsiguenka – Lake Salvador – Hostel Blanquillo
After breakfast, we explore Cocha Salvador, a calm water lake where we will sail silently by catamaran to watch giant otters, capuchin monkeys, birds like hoatzines and Agamí herons.
Walk through the primary forest, among giant trees like ceiba and ficus, listening to the sounds of the jungle and learning about the ecological interactions that keep this ecosystem so vital. In the afternoon, sailing to the Albergue Blanquillo, surrounded by nature and perfect to rest.
Optional: Night hike to continue exploring wildlife under the stars.

Tambo Blanquillo Lodge
Day 5 | Macaw Shack – Piranha Fishing – Colorado Town
Very early we visited the famous Collpa de Macamayos de Blanquillo, a color and sound show where dozens of macaws, parrots and parakeets gather to feed on the mineral-rich clay. It is one of the most striking phenomena in the Amazon.
Then, visit a nearby lake for a fun piranha fishing session, guided by locals. In the afternoon, we sail to the Amazon town of Colorado, where we will spend the last night in a hostel with all the amenities.

Puerto Maldonado
Day 6 | Colorado – Puerto Maldonado – Flight to Cusco or Lima
After breakfast, we will start the return by land. A journey of approximately 2 hours takes us to Puerto Carlos, where we will take another mobility to reach Puerto Maldonado (approximately 2.5 additional hours). Lunch and farewell to the expedition team.
From the local airport, you will take your return flight to Cusco or Lima, according to your itinerary.
