Madrid
The route starts at Liria Palace and then leads west to the Temple of Debod and Príncipe Pío, before turning back through the Royal Palace, Teatro Real, and Almudena Cathedral. From there, you continue into the old heart of the city at Mercado de San Miguel, Plaza Mayor, and Puerta del Sol, then follow Calle de Alcalá past the Círculo de Bellas Artes and Cibeles Fountain.
The walk ends at Puerta de Alcalá beside Retiro Park, where Madrid’s grand urban vision comes into focus. Along the way, traveler will experience an Egyptian temple above the city, the scale of royal and religious landmarks, the energy of a historic market, the symbolism of Madrid’s central squares, and the elegance of its great boulevards.
