Itinerary
1
Parque del Retiro
El Retiro is an oasis in the heart of Madrid and an all-time favorite destination of Madrilenos. Originally constructed for the royal family, in 1868 it opened its doors to the public. Walk around and discover the oldest tree in Madrid which dates back to the 17th century, as well as the Crystal Palace and the imposing statues, finding out the history of the most controversial sculpture of the city.
2
Gran Via
For the construction of Gran Via, known as "Madrilenian Broadway'', more than 300 houses were demolished and about 50 streets changed radically to become home to this new “sanctuary” of the rising consumer society. Listen to our stories about the emblematic buildings and places where famous writers and actors used to gather.
