Dedicated to the Sun God Inti, this impressive site showcases extraordinary Inca stonework combined with colonial architecture built by the Spanish conquerors. We will continue to the impressive archaeological complex of Sacsayhuamán, located above Cusco City. This massive Inca fortress is famous for its enormous stone walls, some weighing more than 100 tons. You will admire panoramic views of Cusco while learning about the engineering skills and military importance of the site during the Inca Empire.

At Qenqo, you will discover an important ceremonial center believed to have been used for rituals and religious ceremonies by the Incas. The site features carved stone passages, altars, and underground chambers that continue to intrigue historians and archaeologists today.

We will briefly stop at Puka Pukara, also known as the “Red Fortress.” This archaeological site served as a military checkpoint and resting place for travelers during Inca times. The surrounding landscapes and stone structures provide excellent opportunities for photographs and cultural insights.

The final stop of the city tour is Tambomachay, an archaeological site associated with water worship and Inca engineering. You will observe beautifully constructed water channels and fountains that still function today, demonstrating the Incas’ advanced hydraulic knowledge.
