Cusco - Hidroelectreica - Aguas Calientes

Aguas Calientes
We’ll pick you up from your hotel between 6:00 a.m. and 6:20 a.m. and begin a scenic drive to Hidroelectrica (approximately 6 to 7 hours). Along the way, we’ll cross the Andes through Abra Málaga (4,316 m / 14,160 ft) and descend into the lush cloud forest, with short stops for rest and snacks.
At Hidroelectrica, enjoy a delicious lunch included in the tour. Afterward, we’ll start a 10 km (6.2 miles) hike to Aguas Calientes (around 2.5 to 3 hours), following the railway tracks surrounded by tropical vegetation and beautiful mountain views.
Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes (around 4:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.), our staff will meet you and assist with any last details regarding your Machu Picchu entrance tickets. Then, you’ll check in to your included accommodation.
In the evening (7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.), you’ll have a briefing with our guide, who will explain the next day’s itinerary, meeting points, and helpful tips for your visit to Machu Picchu.
