Follow us on a stroll beneath the gas lamps through the second Royal park of the tour, and take in the breathtaking views from the bridge. Keep an eye out for foxes, squirrels, and the famous family of pelicans - who are the direct descendants of those gifted to King Charles II in the 1660s!

Horse Guards Parade at Whitehall
By day, thousands of tourists pack the famous Horse Guards Parade for the King's Life Guard, but by night we have it all to ourselves! Henry VIII used this famous site as a jousting ground in the 16th century, but you may recognise it today for hosting various royal events, including the Trooping the Colour ceremonies to mark Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II's official birthday. With various war memorials and monuments decorating the area, Horse Guards Parade has a rich military history.

Originally founded in 960AD, this ancient house of worship has hosted sixteen Royal weddings since the year 1100, is the building from which the entire city is named, and is the final resting place of countless historical figures. With no crowds in the way, get up close to the famous Horse Guards building, which has stood here on this site since the 1740s. Directly opposite banqueting house, which was built in 1619, stand on the very junction where King Charles I was executed back in 1649 and be captivated by your guide's tales of what happened here.

Pass by the memorial to King Charles I - which since 1660s has marked the EXACT centre of London - and beneath the Lord Nelson's towering monument as we make our way into the famous Trafalgar Square. An iconic spot of immense historical interest, it's also another amazing photo opportunity with the spectacular fountains, Landseer's famous bronze lions and the National Portrait Gallery dominating the Square's entire northern side.
