Known for its traditional feel, with a Venison dish always on the menu, the pub’s charm extends to its unique features, like the marble-tiled floor, repurposed from the nearby Cathedral, and the rare "Horsebox" bar. This cozy nook boasts one of only six surviving pewter-topped bars in the country, along with a beautifully carved wooden arch and several rare features, it is rumoured that Winston Churchill and Dwight Eisenhower once plotted in the Horsebox Bar while planning the D-Day landings in 1944. Salisbury Cathedral is an unmissable landmark that has captivated visitors for over 800 years. Home to Britain’s tallest spire, this Gothic masterpiece boasts the world’s oldest working clock and the best-preserved original Magna Carta (one of only four surviving copies worldwide). During the tour, you will hear why the cathedral had to be moved from nearby Old Sarum, and how this move resulted in the Gothic masterpiece we see today.
