Explore Sintra’s mysterious side at Quinta da Regaleira, an estate built for António Augusto Carvalho Monteiro, known as “Monteiro the Millionaire.” The gardens are filled with symbolic towers, grottoes, tunnels, caves, fountains, and secret paths. Descend the famous Initiation Well, a deep spiral structure that was not built for water, but for symbolism and atmosphere.
