Your friendly local driver collects you from your Cairns City accommodation around 8:00 AM and ensures a smooth start to your adventure with a scenic drive to Skyrail Smithfield Terminal.
Note: Tour direction may be reversed (Railway first, then Skyrail) depending on optimal daily routing

Skyrail Rainforest Cableway
Glide 7.5 kilometres above the lush canopy of the world's oldest tropical rainforest with panoramic views of waterfalls, dense greenery, and dramatic landscapes. Pass through Red Peak and Barron Falls stations to view spectacular waterfalls cascading into Barron Gorge National Park from lookout platforms.

Barron Falls from Skyrail's station lookout during your cableway journey. Most spectacular during wet season (December-April) when tropical rainfall increases water volume dramatically.

Kuranda Village
By 11:00 AM, arrive at the picturesque Kuranda Village, nestled in the heart of the rainforest. With four hours to explore at your own pace, you'll have plenty of time to browse the famous Heritage Markets (established 1915) featuring Indigenous art, local crafts, and Australian souvenirs. Visit optional popular attractions like Australian Butterfly Sanctuary, Birdworld Kuranda, and Kuranda Koala Gardens at your leisure (admission not included). Enjoy a relaxed lunch at local cafés and restaurants, discover village galleries, browse artwork and handmade goods, and take rainforest walks without feeling rushed.

Board Australia's oldest operating railway, the historic 1891 Kuranda Scenic Railway, at Kuranda Station for the spectacular descent through Barron Gorge National Park. Travel through 15 hand-carved tunnels and across 37 heritage bridges, passing Stoney Creek Falls and rainforest gorges whilst onboard commentary shares Queensland railway construction history.
