Gangjin Dawon
Gangjin Tea Field is located at the foot of Mt. Wolchulsan and has been cultivated for green tea production since 1980 by Osulloc, one of Korea’s leading tea producers. However, Gangjin’s tea culture dates back over 1,000 years, as wild tea trees were naturally grown in many Buddhist temples around the mountain since Goryeo Dynasty. The green tea from Gangjin is known for its strong aroma and smooth, rarely bitter taste. With the majestic rocks of Mt. Wolchulsan towering above, Gangjin Tea Field offers a truly spectacular landscape.

Baegundong Hermitage Garden
Baeg-un-dong Hermitage Garden, built in the late 17th century during the Joseon Dynasty, is known as one of Korea’s most beautiful private gardens. The site was chosen with great care to harmonize with nature, featuring a flowing mountain stream and lush forest surroundings. We can enjoy a peaceful stroll along the forested paths leading to the garden, taking in peaceful views of the woods, the stream, and wild tea trees. This hermitage is also historically important as the place where the revival of Korean tea culture began in the late Joseon period.

Seongjeon-myeon
Baeg-un Tea House honors the legacy of Korea’s first tea brand, Baegun Okpan Tea, created in the 1920s by Lee Han-young, a descendant of one of Jeong Yak-yong’s disciples. While exiled in Gangjin, the great Joseon scholar Jeong Yak-yong rediscovered the value of tea and tea-making techniques, which he passed on to his disciples. Over generations, these methods have been preserved and are still used at Baeg-un Tea House. We can taste the rice cake tea made using this 200-year-old tradition at this historic site, just as Jeong Yak-yong enjoyed it.
