Ananuri Fortress Complex
Just 15 minutes after Zhinvali Reservoir, we arrive at Ananuri Castle, one of Georgia’s most popular tourist attractions. This historic fortress includes two churches and a 16th-century defensive tower within its walls.
The fortress complex is beautifully situated on the shores of Zhinvali Reservoir, whose turquoise waters create a truly remarkable backdrop. Ananuri used to be the seat of the eristavis (dukes) of Aragvi.
Here, you can enjoy breathtaking views of the mountains and the water, explore the picturesque fortress, and wander through the rich history that surrounds this iconic site.

Russian Georgian Friendship Monument
Our next stop is the Gudauri Friendship Monument, also known as the Gudauri Panorama or the Treaty of Georgievsk Monument. Built by the Soviet government to celebrate 200 years since the signing of the Treaty of Georgievsk in 1783, this monument is a striking blend of history and art.
The panorama is decorated with Soviet-style mosaics depicting Georgian and Russian heroes, farmers, fairy tales, and communist symbols. While the artwork itself is vivid and colorful, the monument’s true beauty comes from its breathtaking location.

Gergeti Trinity Church
Our final stop is Stepantsminda (Kazbegi), located near Georgia’s northern border with Russia. The town’s main attraction is Kazbegi Peak, also known as Mkinvartsveri, which has long drawn the attention of mountain enthusiasts. From its summit at 5,054 meters, the panoramic views are truly unforgettable.
In Kazbegi, we will visit the 14th-century Gergeti Trinity Church, situated at the foot of Kazbegi Glacier. Its isolated location atop a steep mountain, surrounded by the vast Caucasus landscape, has made it one of Georgia’s most iconic landmarks and a symbol of the country’s rich heritage.
Winter Option (November to May) : During this period, the road from Kazbegi center to Gergeti Church is always covered with snow, so only a local off-road car can reach the church. This optional ride costs $25 per car (total, not per person).
