The western trail head of the Kawarau Gorge Trail connects to the renowned wine region of Gibbston at the Gibbston River Trail. Spend some time visiting the vineyards, and savouring some tastings.

The trail winds along the Kawarau River, traversing bluffs, crossing above the river on clip-on bridges, meandering along paths that have been built and shaped to sit naturally within the challenging terrain.
