Hellfire Pass Interpretive Centre and Memorial Walking Trail
Hellfire Pass (known in Thai as Chong Khao Kad) is one of the most sobering and historically significant sites of World War II. Located in the Tenasserim Hills of Kanchanaburi Province, Thailand, it was the deepest and most difficult rock cutting along the 415km Burma-Thailand Railway, famously known as the "Death Railway."
The site serves as a powerful memorial to the Allied Prisoners of War (POWs) and Asian forced laborers (Rōmusha) who suffered and died here under the Japanese Imperial Army.
