Kompong Phluk is a traditional stilted and floating village on the edge of Tonle Sap Lake. Built on wooden stilts 6–10 meters high, these homes stand above floodwaters during the rainy season and rise like towers during the dry months. The village offers an extraordinary look at Cambodia’s water-based lifestyle.
What You’ll See/Do:
Wooden stilt houses, floating schools, and Buddhist temples
Village life: fishing, net repairing, and cooking on boats
Smiling children paddling small boats
Floating stores and community buildings
