Hidden in Hagia Sophia's shadow, this 16th-century Ottoman medrese was designed by Mimar Sinan — a quiet start before the walk begins.

Sultans entered through this gate. We start where they did — inside the outer courtyard, no ticket required.

Hagia Irene Museum
Istanbul's only Byzantine church the Ottomans never converted into a mosque. Most visitors walk past it without knowing it's there. Entrance fee not included (visible from the outside)
